If they're paying for the tariffs, why was the US stock market the biggest loser?

maybe because China, EU et al have yet to retaliate, often coordinating efforts in a trade war against a common enemy

The US's largest trade partners charge similar tariffs, some a bit lower and some a bit higher but not radically different:

In other news, they play tariff games with each other. Canada levied 100% tariff on EVs from China in 2024, and 25% on Chinese steel and aluminum.

Sure, it's different from blanket tariffs but none of these countries are innocents when it comes to tariffs.

LOL you are retarded or a dishonest kike. Nobody has done what the US is now doing in 100 years except for 5 shithole countries in Africa. And @00 years ago when the US did it, it led to the great depression

What are you even saying? They aren't "innocents", what does this mean? They're "guilty" of having tariffs just like the US does, and at similar levels? The US also has a 100% tariff on EVs, and has had a 25% tariff on light trucks for 50 years. A few tariffs for strategic purposes is normal and not notable, and the data shows that the US is in line with the entire EU, Canada, UK, Mexico, Japan etc. in having a low but not zero amount of applied tariffs overall. What Trump is doing is not reciprocal, it is reckless and unprecedented.

lol great example.

Canada put these tariffs on Chinese exports under pressure from the Biden administration, in order to protect the integrated North American auto market.

the US has now turned around and announced it plans to kill that market by tariffing Canadian production.

if Canada has half a brain it will drop the Chinese tariffs and let its people buy $10K Chinese EVs and $15K Japanese pickups instead of garbage $90K Chrysler products

there are only 5 countries in the world with effective tariffs greater than 14.6%. they're all african shitholes. the US just chose to set its effective tariff rate at 24.2%
