the same reason POTUS delegates command of the military to generals. that doesn't mean the generals have authority independent from the president.

do you think the AG has power independent from POTUS? if so, what grants it and why can POTUS fire without cause?

of course a schizo federal drone believes that the federal bureaucracy is some magical fourth branch with powers separate and independent from what the constitution lays out

Law enforcement is not a core POTUS power like commander in chief. It’s entirely a creature of statute. It only exists insofar as Congress authorized it to exist, and Congress did not give POTUS the power to indict anyone.

Article II, Section 3: "he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed"

Myers v. U.S.: "Mr. Madison and his associates in the discussion in the House dwelt at length upon the necessity there was for construing article 2 to give the President the sole power of removal in his responsibility for the conduct of the executive branch, and enforced this by emphasizing his duty expressly declared in the third section of the article to 'take care that the laws be faithfully executed. ***The vesting of the executive power in the President was essentially a grant of the power to execute the laws***."

since you're ESL perhaps this will help:

essentially: used to emphasize the basic, fundamental, or intrinsic nature of a person, thing, or situation.

kiddo this isn’t up for debate. law enforcement is not a core constitutional power of potus. SCOTUS even pointed this out in the Trump immunity opinion last year and cited it as an example where presidential immunity doesn’t apply for that very reason

an exception proves that there is a rule. creating a narrow exception for the enforcement of law against POTUS to ensure POTUS isn't above the law does not mean that POTUS is not the one vested with enforcement of the law in all other cases.

i cited the constitution and SCOTUS interpreting it. if i'm wrong, then cite something yourself. jabs like "kiddo" just highlight you're MAF.

gunnerattt my copy of the Constitution only gives the President the following powers:

"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment."

What does your copy say?
