They have a $2B economy, roughly 10% of which is based off of selling Levis to America. They also have a 99% tariff on American imports. Americans benefit far more from tariff-free Levis than they would by getting free access to Lesotho's markets (largely for corrugated tin roofing, sticks, and twine).

Not to mention that drastically increasing tariffs on imports will ultimately hamper our efforts to rebuild domestic manufacturing since so much of it will still be dependent on foreign sourced inputs. |
