The title is a quote from David Bernstein, but he didn't elaborate, and I'm trying to work out what the arguments for and against would be.
Genocide arguments
1) Israel has killed more civilians, orders of magnitude more quickly and in a smaller conflict, than Russia has in Ukraine, a conflict not involving industrial scale warfare.
2) They have reduced the public infrastructure to rubble and appear to be doing their best to make the Gaza Strip unlivable.
3) There are statements from Israeli government types that indicate a "final solution" to the Palestinian problem is their ultimate goal.
Not a genocide arguments
1) Israel is not trying to kill all the Palestinians, but only force them out, which isn't the popular definition of "genocide," though it may be the legal definition.
2) Israel is conducting a war to get its hostages back, and some amount of the collateral damage is due to specific choices by Hamas to make the war more dangerous for civilians.
3) There's a lot of lying about Israel, so who knows what the truth is.
4) Anything else?
