It requires multiple victims, a cop being killed, witness intimidation, murder for hire, etc. A cop was killed here, but the evidence for premeditation seems scant. This sounds like some crackhead was hanging out in a parking lot and ended up in a shootout with a cop (where the crackhead was shot too).
2. With that said, the perp is a complete piece of shit with 21 priors. I hope he gets stabbed to death in prison. |

Pretty rare in NY, especially NYC. I suspect the DA was between a rock and a hard place. Cops would have been pissed if they went for murder 2 instead. Had to show they were going all out. Anyway, he’s getting the max 25 years for the attempted murder and 25 years for the aggravated manslaughter. He’s 36. He’ll die in prison.
