They should probably just jack up their prices until demand levels out, but the services they offer are so necessary and demand likely so inflexible that they'd have to gouge the shit out you before it made a dent in demand, and then every customer would (rightly) be a whiny little bitch who's a pain in the ass to deal with.
I've been trying to get a water softener replaced, a tankles water heater installed, and some drywall repaired, and dudes are just clearly blowing me off. I had to fucking beg to get some dudes to take my $27K for a new HVAC system last year. |

And if you know one latino handyman he can hook you up with more skilled guys like gas, electric, plumbing easily. They are all busy but have the “money is money” work ethic and will come. None are licensed or bonded of course so you need to pick and choose the work they do and decide on your risk tolerance. I wouldnt have them do a huge project but like fixing a small pipe issue or whatever is fine. Most of them do a lot of work for licensed white GCs so they know and do work to code. Have them explain what code is for whatever job and how they meet it, and then go look it up yourself to see if they were right. They always have been in my experience. If it’s work you doubt or need a permit for you can usually pull the permit yourself as the homeowner and then tell the guy you did it DIY and just watch as he inspects it and what to look for and he will sign off.
