It was just there—half-covered in rain, wheels caked in mud. No baby, no parent, nothing but a silent relic of whatever happened before. People walked by, careful not to look too long, like staring might pull them into the same fate.
I stopped for a moment, thought about moving it. But I didn’t. Some things are better left untouched.
By morning, it was gone. Maybe someone took it. Maybe it just became part of the city, swallowed whole by the streets. Seattle always takes what’s left behind.
