The European Theater is massively overrepresented in our education and collective zeitgeist re WWII, and especially D Day. Only serious people who took the time to read and learn know about all the other stuff like the Invasion of Italy or the entire Pacific theater which was massive and huge and cemented the USA’s place as keeper of global geopolitical order with its blue water navy.
