The Steven Starr ones are reliably good — Parc, Dandelion, El Vez, etc.
For seafood the Oyster bar on like 16th and Sansom
Reading Terminal — DiNic’s for Roast Pork, Beiler’s for donuts. Both have long lines but are worth it
The lamb shoulder at Zahav is legendary but I don’t like lamb so never tried it
Vedge is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in America if you’re into that
McGillan’s near City Hall is a tremendous dive bar. Other good ones in Center City are Oscar’s and McGlinchy’s. You can still smoke in McGlinchy’s, at least last time I went

good choices, would add to that a “regular” Italian hoagie
fresh baked bread, preferably from a local Italian bakery, provolone, ham, gabagool, salami, lettuce, tomato, onion, hot peppers, with a generous dousing of “hoagie” oil
Atlantic City has something similar but a little different, if you’re going there we’ll need a new thread for that
