as to why Mayer and Anthony are starting in the Minors, you probably know better than me being on the ground in Pawtucket / Attleboro / North Attleboro, I assume its because of Story's hitting and the fact that Anthony it's on the fielding level of Durran, Rafaela, or Abreu? I think both were scuffling during the spring a bit |

Also, Mayer is supposed to be the next SS and Campbell the 2B, it just so happens that 2B is open now and SS isnt until Story gets injured in game 10 of the season
Anthony is being kept down because the outfield is too crowded, they will bring up up once a spot opens up inevitably due to injuries.
Of course, there is also the service time manipulation aspect, keep these guys down for long enough and they get another protected year in arbitration before they become FAs. |
