he's in the same bucket as Avenatti: while useful to Dems in superficial culture wars, they were allowed to participate but were always disposable.
in Swalwell's case, Pelosi always held the strings. and she was the one who called him with orders to resign from Congress.

I mean from their (i.e., the Democratic-Jewish Cabal's) perspective, something had to break the 2-Republican jungle-primary-lead situation.
You always hate having to cut an asset loose, but they already have several folks in the "sleezy but kind of chadly white male" lane, which is also a lane that they hate having to go to in general and only pick from when they're on their heels.
EDIT: It's better that it went quick, though. Just look at it as the modern version of when Zero Wolf emotionlessly stabs his own soldier in the chest and pushes him off a waterfall.
