used to own a basic yamaha wr (the yellow one)
I think i spent like 7k on it, new.
Im trying to parse out the business plan. Let's say you buy a fleet of at least 10. Get them wholesale, used, a little banged up, etc... Still a pretty big investment.
You also need several trailers, a ton of gasoline, a lot of maintenance, and some kind of office costs (credit card charging, reservation taking, etc).
You probably need a municipal license and big insurance, though in Miami I see at least one business that appears to rent them black market just off the Julia Tuttle causeway. (Seems like the cops could bust them every day, so maybe there's bribery costs).
But if youre doing it legit, insurance would be huge, as someone will eventually drown.
You charge $300 for two hours or something. You also have to have an employee out there, on a ski, shepherding the renters, or they will just drive them off into the ocean, or into the back of their pickup truck and steal them.
And now youre renting to Baltimore chimps, who are just going to flip the things and ground them and wreck them?
Seems like youre out of business pretty quick.
