ITT: income levels and what they mean in NYC in 2025

$400k HHI: entry-level to “upper middle class” life, middle class life with room to build, financially comfortable with less worry.
$1mm HHI: entry-level “rich”. Renting (but not owning) a nice house in the Hamptons. |

The problem is that you probably are thinking about it in terms of rent in a Manhattan luxury building, private schools, etc. but this has absolutely nothing to do with MMC life in NYC.
