Law360 (July 3, 2024, 5:09 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Wednesday put the Federal Trade Commission's rule banning noncompete agreements on hold for a challenge of the regulation being brought by tax preparation company Ryan LLC and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
U.S. District Judge Ada Brown issued an order granting a motion from Ryan and the Chamber that asked for a preliminary injunction preventing the rule from taking effect in September while the court considers if the FTC has authority to issue the sweeping ban.
