It’s insane how little Japan cares for Metroid. The fandom still has a lot of westerners who just want something badass and T-rated so they don’t feel like faggots playing a Nintendo system. Also I keep recalling the analysts’ take on Switch 2 Q4 sales, that it lacked a major western Game. It had fucking Metroid Prime 4 lmao. But mediocre games just get wiped from memory, except when they’re western AAA. Then Outrage is converted to Engagement somehow, as seen with Cyberpunk 2077. Redditors LOVE the comeback story arc. “Phantom Liberty is a tour de force.”
Also it isn’t even much worse than the older ones. It just exposes how overrated the series always was. By not being a 9/10, it detracts from the series’ aura and legacy. |
