Here’s a good rule of thumb for how many chicken wings to order for your Super Bowl crew (assuming wings aren’t the only thing you’re serving since you’re also having two 18″ pizzas):
🏈 Wings Per Person
Adults: ~8–10 wings each (appetizer/snack portion with pizza).
Teens (big eaters): ~10–12 wings each.
Older adults who may eat: ~6–8 wings each (depending on appetite).
Kids (ages 3–8): ~3–5 wings each.
👥 Your Group Size
6 adults → ~48–60 wings
2 teens (included in that count, but treat as big eaters) → bump +8–10 wings
2 optional older adults → ~12–16 wings (if they decide to eat)
3 kids → ~9–15 wings
📊 Estimated Total
Wings to order: ~75–100 wings
This gives a good buffer without going way overboard, especially since you have pizza too. If you want to be very safe (and you expect heavy eaters), you could round up to ~110–120 wings.
🧠 Quick Tips
If wings are just an appetizer alongside pizza, err toward the lower end.
If everybody loves wings or guests graze constantly during the game, push toward the higher end or add a few extra pounds (leftovers are better than running out).
Kids often eat less chicken than adults, especially with other food available.
If you want, I can also estimate how much pizza you should have (slices) based on your crowd!
