Midtown homicide suspect had multiple other LGBTQ+ targets, sources say

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Sources close to a midtown double homicide, which is now being investigated as a hate crime, told News 4 Tucson the alleged shooter, 44-year-old Ousman Ceesay, appeared to have multiple additional targets.

Tucson Police said initial evidence suggests the alleged shooter, Ousman Ceesay, confronted two victims in the parking lot of the Venture-N Bar before shooting them. Ceesay is accused of killing 42-year-old Vincent Siqueiros and 33-year-old Cameron Capara.

Sources close to the investigation said a note found on Ceesay listed three other LGBTQ-friendly businesses he appeared to be targeting, and more locations were found at his Tucson address where authorities served a search warrant.

Tucson Police responded to the Venture-N Bar around 12:30 a.m. to reports of a shooting. Capara and Siqueiros were pronounced dead on scene. Ceesay was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Sources close to the investigation said Ceesay came to Tucson about a month ago from Oklahoma. He is originally from The Gambia.

Neighbors told News 4 Tucson they are shaken by what happened.

"As someone who lives right across from this bar it's terrifying to know this was a targeted hate crime, on individuals, people in my community," Ella Dunkle, a LGBTQ+ community member, said.

Sources said it is still unclear why Ceesay took his life before targeting other locations. Tucson Police say there is no active, known threat to the larger community.
