When I got out of the car in the morning I realized that I was parked next to an extensive network of ponds, something you don't see in other parts of the country. So I'm pretty sure it was a fucking alligator... the next morning people at the company whose lot I was parked in confirmed that they see gators are those ponds. |

during one of those excursions i arrived at some sand dune area and got out of my car to survey it and consider if i should lower the air pressure on my tires and give it a go.
there was a dude in truck nearby that came over to talk. said he was from colorado, a bit strange, but nothing that couldn't be written off as just being an 'off the grid' type. memory isn't the best, but i recall he veered off into talking about killing his wife, and then expanded from there talking about killing other women, saying all this shit like it was watercooler talk in the office. i thankfully had my glock 26 in an iwb holser and moved my shirt away so it would be visible. didn't seem to phase him, but wrapped up the meet and greet fairly soon after that and i opted not to risk getting stuck in the sand and left. |

They had a empty gallon milk container that they had filled up with water and dosed with LSD and were passing it around the bonfire. Someone had a guitar and was playing 'Wish You Were Here' by Pink Floyd, there were some bongos and congas.
They were on the move, needed a play to stay, I offered my dorm room since my roommate dropped out with spinal meningitis earlier that year.
Everyone in the Rainbow Tribe or Rainbow Gathering, whatever they were called, were around our ages, but there was this dude in his 40s or 50s that was hanging out with them and he actually owned a car. It was a small red convertible like a Miata.
I remember hearing a story about that dude a few months later about how he totaled his car because it "got sucked" under a tractor-trailer on the highway. I remember asking how the fuck does a car get sucked under a tractor trailer but did not get a satisfactory answer. |

A shovel or hoe is fine for copperheads who are generally shy and play possum. Rattlesnakes and cottonmouths are big and will fucking strike at or follow you. I don’t like getting that close to them. And it’s very common that they get into brush or other crap where you can’t get a clean hit at them with a shovel, so snake shot is generally good for those cases. Always chop the head off regardless.
Neighbors call me when they have snakes.
I hate and am scared to death of snakes. |

Not flame, we found its shed skin slithered through King Kandy, Princess Lolly, around Lord Licorice and Peppermint Forest before exiting around Plumpy. The copperhead appeared one day in the living room where it met is demise courtesy of a nearby 2x4.
Then there was the incident in The Great Smoky Mountains where I got bitten by a timber rattlesnake. Or the time in Florida while I was kayaking and some kind of snake fell out of the tree literally 20 feet in front of my kayak right above where I would've passed through. I fucking hate snakes. |
