40 but realistically AI has dramatically helped me automate my work flow, so that it really takes 1/6th of the time that it does on paper.

Do you just bill less because you are super efficient or adhere to bureaucratic time limits, thots?

meetings maybe 10-15hrs

actual work 4-5hrs on average, with a few occasional spikes where it gets up to 15-20

My whole day is meetings and calls. Then you have the travel to meetings and conferences when it becomes nonstop meetings from 8:00 to 6:00 then work dinners till 9/10. But realistically I don't really "work" any more. In the few minutes between calls and meetings I review decks and reports and sign off on them. I make 1-2 decisions a day on average and get paid quite a lot for it.

I worked a lot more in my last role. Creating decks, delivering decks, preparing spreadsheets, agonizing over projections and pipelines, dealing with clients, dealing with hiring and recruiting and interviewing. A lot more stress. Current role is more senior but easier.

When I was working, probably 60 hours. More if you include travel and/or commuting. Now maybe 15/week volunteer.

I've optimized everything so I'm down to 10, but I only make $200K. A promotion wouldn't be worth it, it would involve a lot of meetings that I couldn't write python scripts to avoid.

I was under $100k for a couple years during COVID and never really got my practice caught up. I switched to tech and now make close to $500k/yr. But I have to now work just slightly less than I worked as a lawyer.
