The biggest arms traffickers for terrorists and rogue states are russians with deep connections to the kremlin. Even before the war, they gladly provided financial and material backing to venezuela, iran, north korea, cuba, and china.
3. they use oil and gas as a weapon against the west. Over the past 15 years they've shut off or curtailed gas shipments to europe to gain dominance in eastern europe.
4. they conduct intelligence operations in democratic countries aimed at backing anti-western political parties. Especially true in the old soviet republics where they are the direct financiers of anti-EU and anti-US parties but even in western europe and the US, they've engaged in similar lobbying.
5. It's one of the largest and most powerful autocratic governments on the planet. Its values are the antithesis of western values. Conflict is inevitable. |
