Date: August 1st, 2024 4:36 PM Author: Pontificating Bearded Rigpig Sex Offender half of the events are totally fake "sports" that no one would ever care about, and are populated by "competitors" who are only there to hyperspecialize in the useless cringe activity to try to grift a medal. the offender that set me off enough to make this thread was "race walking." it's people "walking" as fast as possible per a bunch of made up arbitrary completely uninteresting "rules." no one cares or would ever care about this - it's incredibly embarrassing and stupid
the women's events used to be populated by attractive, toned, sexy female athletes who everybody of both sexes loved to gawk over. now it's literal trannies and the bio women are overtrained disgusting looking freaks who exude negative sex appeal and make you want to immediately turn off the TV
the coverage sucks, it's boring as hell, the commentary is cringe, and it's dominated by weird "human interest" angles on random competitors who nobody cares about, instead of just showing events
it probably seems like i'm exaggerating but i really have been completely turned off by "the olympics" the last couple times they've come around. i used to quite enjoy it every 4 years. it was a cool and rare event that provided some novelty and excitement and something to converse about with other people. i haven't had a single conversation with anyone so far about the olympics other than with a group of people who all volunteered that it sucks now, before i even had a chance to speak. lol |

Very good but not the best diver? Partner up with someone and be the best at doing the same dive at the same time!
Very fast but not the fastest? Be the best at running and occasionally jumping over a moderately high obstacle!
The crazy thing about race walking is that it's been part of the olympics in some way or other since 1908. Holy shit what are we even doing?! |

Michael Phelps has, and i'm not even exaggerating, 146 gold medals. He has been rewarded, praised and worshipped for doing the exact same thing in slightly different formats when we all know it's really just being the best at 1 thing and not 146 distinct things. |
