Another record highs and huge year over year gains for housing costs.

Even if housing costs went down a bit before election time, he's basically run out of time to form any sort of narrative.

People are going to be on Zillow realizing it costs 3x as much to buy a house under Biden, and its not getting better.

And they'll go to the grocery store and see that a bag of Doritos is now $7, and a Big Mac meal is $13.

Short of putting Trump in jail, Biden is really running out of cards to play...

Most people are home owners so I don’t know that’s a great example… people get more pissed about shit like cost of groceries, eating out, hotels, flights, rental cars, cars in general, alcohol etc

Conservative 2x Trump voter here.

The hikes are high but not unprecedented. The 80s hikes were similarly abrupt and brought mortgage rates into the teens. (My parents had a 14% mortgage.) Of course, we weren’t a bunch of pussies then and you could actually build new houses to lower demand. Now, the supply of housing is fixed in the short term due to overregulation and materials and labor are so expensive new houses cost a fucking fortune.

Yes, Biden is fucked. But what will Trump do to lower inflation? Tax cuts aren’t going to help—they are actually inflationary.

Tax cuts he would have to get through a Dem House (yes, obviously the House will flip)/will have to water down substantially. But the insane tariffs on everything proposal he’s made is inflationary as fuck. So is cracking down on illegal immigration, but we have to do that no matter what.

Because the homeowner demographic you talk about are obsessed with HGTV and Zillow.

There's this weird notion on XOXO that somehow homeowners are thrilled when they realize that if they wanted to upgrade their house, they'd actually have to pay double to get a much shittier house.

Like yeah they're not as fucked as renters, but really everyone is much worse off save boomers who are downsizing - and even many of them actually have kids who are struggling in the market.

The people who live in these places will be killed by vagrants. Always happens eventually.
