Cr; I also think that the problem with trying to replace the family and state with class solidarity doesn’t work at the level of psychology; people will work selflessly to help a close knit in group, and they’ll serve a state; both serve deep psychological tendencies.
So while I could see the odd anarcho-syndicalist project working on the fringes of a society, and we know that big state “communism”, while a failure, could at least be carried out for a while, I think any kind of “good communism” requires conservative values that the cultural Marxists have largely successfully eroded.
Which is great if your goal is some sort of state-managed neoliberalism but I don’t think anyone ever really wanted that.
Well, maybe one group did…

Yep. I suspect this is one of the real reasons why all these eg tech billionaires and other wealthy "moderates" are rallying behind Trump atm; the threat of political violence and truly popular grassroots radicalism is suddenly becoming very real, very quickly, and the "competency crisis" which exists in part but not in entirety due to DEI policies becomes a pressing thing down both political lanes when the consequences of such extend into the sphere of security failures. This isn't an issue that the state or the professional caste really seems equipped to deal with atm in theory or practice, either---the alarm bells have been ringing for some time with no real movement, and partisan squabbling has glazed over fundamental issues with our institutions and models (education especially comes to mind) while providing no meaningful change or reform in actuality
Things are getting terrible for poors in this country, the very real threat of automation wiping out swathes (esp in the lower rungs) of the knowledge economy looms, Zoomers and GAmos with less and less to lose are increasingly nihilistic-in-practice where they're not embracing consumer hedonism (a normally sustainable facet of our economy, when tethered to meaningful national narratives), and there appears to be no real relief on the horizon
There's still a chilling effect on frank discussion of these matters due to dated cold warrior political attitudes still lingering around the room like stale gas---even here, as a long standing right winger, I was aggressively smeared as a lib, a communist, and then a dangerous revolutionary merely for reporting accurately on what I have been seeing and hearing since the COVID years from average working class people---that things are "not good" for poors, that they feel little investment in their country due to being priced out of basic metrics that make up the base of the QoL pyramid, and that they feel intensely disaffected or like "nothing matters" when engaging with the commonly felt notion that neither political party is doing much of anything to Make America Livable Again
It's worth noting that, in the history books, these were the sorts of conditions and sentiments that brought about both the end of Weimar and the beginning of the political upheaval that led to the Russian Revolution; things are going to get very dicey if commodity prices aren't stabilized and some of these vulture-like corporate raider PE firms playing prison rapist in various Tragedy of the Commons socio-economic problems aren't splattered like roaches by SEC/A-T/etc's pest control arm. The people need to see the state taking action on these critical issues before the public's trust in the present regime's ability to provide affordability falls any further and home ownership needs to not just be part of an increasingly unattainable "American dream", if these sparks are going to be stamped out before they start lighting. One optimistic take is that we can maybe look to our European cousins for solutions; a lot of these sorts of issues have already come and gone in the Old World and they weathered it well enough with political reform and expanding the tents on allowable discourse, while also putting citizen QoL concerns above maximizing economic return or potential CEO pay bands. A benefit of adopting these priorities over the former may be that widely coveted period of cultural flourishing (esp. amongst traditionally white forms of cultural expressions) that right wingers have been begging for
