I am fat now and started getting fat in my 20s. As a kid and throughout my teenage years, I was slender with muscular legs and very fit.
I was natural very athletic. I would say 1 step below being an elite athlete. I played soccer on very competitive teams. Freshman year, I was 1 of 2 players to make JV (there was also a freshman team with 20+ kids on it). 1 player my year made varsity as a freshman. He went on to be a star D1 player and could have played pro but he had some personal issues that derailed him.
I was at my absolute peak at age 17 but had some setbacks (some self-inflicted). Early in the summer heading into my senior year, I suffered a horrific ankle injury playing some bullshit game at rutgers just days before a series of college showcase tournaments. I spent the summer in PT. I didn't want to miss any of my senior season and came back too soon. My ankle wasn't 100% and I was slow. In the first game of the season, out of frustration, I shoved an opposing player to the ground and got a red card with a 4 game suspension.
I came back and managed to still get all county and all conference honors, but it was ultimately a disappointing season. I had 1 more club season and averaged 1 goal/game. This marked the end of my competitive soccer career, as I went to a big sTTTate U and even at my best, was not the level player to be at a big time program. I also just barely even got into college. My grades were horrible and I drifted toward the scumbag crowd getting into drugs from a pretty young age.
I also played on the HS tennis team (albeit doubles) and did CYO basketball but definitely was never a good basketball player bc I never learned proper shooting form or ball handling skills.
