When I was in college, we used to go to bars and stuff. Sometimes even restaurants, too. Occasionally we'd go into the city and do fun things. I've only been to Wake's campus a couple times, but my recollection is that it's in kind of a residential area in the corner of town. Google Maps doesn't show much in the way of bars/restaurants/shops within walking distance. If you hike a half a mile, you can get to a Popeyes.
I guess maybe if you're an Asian incel and your idea of fun is poasting or playing video games in your dorm, Wake might be pretty cool. But I'd prefer UNC or NCSU, both of which have a bunch of bars/clubs/restaurants next door to campus and are located in cities that actually have things to do. Hell, Durham has gentrified enough that's a pretty 180 city these days. But if you prefer abandoned tobacco warehouses and Popeyes, then you do you, bro. |

Actually, I looked it up, and the SAT/ACT scores are almost exactly the same for Davidson and Wake, which surprised me. I guess Wake may get more out-of-state applicants thanks to college sports. Nobody has heard of Davidson other than NC natives, prestige-obsessed Asians, and Steph Curry superfans. I've never heard of someone turning down Davidson for Wake, although apparently it does happen. |

That's why I say that I don't understand why someone would got to Wake unless money is literally no object. The median salary for Wake and NCSU graduates is about the same even though NCSU is about a third of the cost. That's probably skewed by the engineers graduating from NCSU, but still... |
