if he wants to blow up Joe just out of spite, and let trump win... then all politics aside obama has a nihilistic childishness that I would immediately appreciate.
it could also be that the next four years are circled on the calendar as a time to crash an economy that clearly cannot be sustained, and after having seen how to control trump's wilder instincts, they just figure he's an adequate human sacrifice.
this is the scariest possibility, imo. smart minds realize the national debt is completely fucked and are planning an economic nuke. some potus needs to be strapped to the bomb and trump is dumb enough to volunteer |

it still may, time will tell.
But there are countless books, PhDs, and studies about nixon / jfk, as well as deep conspiracies, etc.
ive already seen hints of conspiracy here: the dnc needed joe to drown to bring home their swap plan, and so crafted the debate for his failure, etc.
but that seems to run counter to all the fundraising, and I trust the story money tells more.
if, like his ahistorical, bellweather-busting 2020 win, this debate does not command massive scholarship, however, it would make me think something was up.
This was truly one for the history books |

as a nerd I always enjoyed seeing the academics rolled out every four years to talk about presidential election history, same way I only think about horse racing around the derby.
i liked the idea of these fat losers in book-lined professors offices studying some poll from 1959 and having something interesting to say.
when every single bit of conventional wisdom was exploded in 2020, it should have been their moment to shine. A chance for some rising academic to become a star. Instead, they all went radio silent.

The Oct. 7th AH tape also convinced GOP/Comey to stab Hillary in the back 11 days before the election even if it meant electing Trump in order to save the downballot. The irony is that they only had the opportunity due to the Trump-Russia investigation (related to the aforementioned Trump-Russia-Saudi-Israeli Grand Bargain) as the Trump-Russia investigation took FBI resources away from the Clinton email investigation & delayed it over a month.
