Spector euro 4 Ian Hill (judas priest) edition 50 year anniversary.

It's in mint condition and at a pretty steep discount at guitar center in Springfield, NJ. I played it and immediately fell in love. Listed at $1,850. New, it can be had for $2,500-3,000.

I like the design very much. The simplicity of just the P-style pickup but positioned closer to the bridge to get more growl and edge to the tone. This is appealing to me to get the tone i'm looking for with just 1 pickup and a simple but robust (treble/bass) preamp.

Always loved specter basses. Bad fucking ass

Sell a couple EDCs and get this, much more sensible purchase. Will hold its value too. Those things are nice

They really are beautiful. Neck was a bit too chunky for my liking and I wasn’t crazy about the gloss finish. They had another Spector 5 string that was a dream to play but it was $3k.

Problem is my peavey is basically the perfect bass. Hard to find something the is as comfortable or produces as quality a tone for under $3k.

Have you been playing lately?

I play every day but not enough

I should play right now but just came home from

AJR and Goth Babe concert, had a few beers, need some sleep

Sell that pink fender bass or whatever that you posted a while back. Sell 3-4 EDCs. Get that specter!

I sold the fender a while ago now. I bought a US mustang bass a few months back that my daughter is learning on. It’s really cool. I think I’ll keep looking at Spectors.

How was the show?

That is sick but maybe not necessary if you have a peavy. What kind of amp? I have a trace Elliot that I fucking love. Small and cheap but I think expensive bass amps are faggy.

I mostly play through my little fender rumble 40. I have a Hartke lh500 that I used for dogs a few years ago. I actually just took it in for service because it’s not working.

What model? Now I’m looking at bass heads. I agree spending a ton of money on an amp is stupid. Do I really need 3 preamps to get the tone I want? I’m of the mind simple and reliable is all I really want.

I do not and have never owned one. I can see the appeal but I’m kind of stubborn and probably won’t get one ever. What kind do you have and what do you like to play?

I’m mainly a guitar guy but I’ve got a fender 5 string, and my band mate who actually plays bass has an ibanez 6 string with active pickups that’s badass. I’ve been trying to learn the major/pentatonic scale modes on 5/6 string bass so I can communicate better when we write songs. We sit around and make songs on the computer with our bros. Kind of a hobby we do, nothing live.

I may poast something one day. It’s pretty amateur but i enjoy the hell out of the process. If you had given me a laptop with logic pro as a kid I may have dropped out of school. It’s just plain amazing what you can do with computer nowadays
