(GoT's Red Weddreimagined Reimagined as a Partner Retreat Gone Wrong)

The Starks had no business merging with Frey & Sons LLP. Everyone knew Walder Frey, Senior Partner and gatekeeper of the Frey Group’s legacy clients, was petty, vindictive, and obsessed with securing a foothold in King’s Landing’s legal elite. But Robb Stark, the bright-eyed head of Stark & Tully Associates, saw the merger as their ticket to growth.

The deal was sealed at the annual partnership retreat. Walder Frey insisted the event be held in his offices—“neutral territory,” he claimed, though everyone knew better.

The Starks arrived optimistic but wary. A string quartet played in the lobby while the Frey paralegals handed out champagne and heavily redlined partnership agreements.

Dinner was grandiose: a catered feast that masked Frey’s usual corner-cutting. Toast after toast was raised by Frey himself, each laced with passive-aggressive jabs:

“To Robb Stark, who, despite his youth and inexperience, has shown us all that mergers can be about more than just competence. A bold move.”

The Starks laughed nervously. The Young Wolf's always cautious COO, Catelyn Stark, began sensing something was amiss.

The moment came just after dessert. The string quartet shifted into a somber tune, and Walder Frey rose from his chair. His voice rang out cold and clear:

“I’m afraid there’s been... an oversight.”

Before Robb could respond, the Frey partners descended. The Stark client portfolios were already reassigned. Frey’s associates had preemptively filed to dissolve Stark & Tully’s branding. Even the junior associates, led by Roose Bolton (who had defected weeks earlier), had turned.

Catelyn, in a final desperate act, grabbed Walder Frey by the lapels. "You’ve destroyed us for what? A minor market share in the Northern districts?"

Walder sneered. "The Lannisters send their regards."

By the time the dust settled, the Starks were finished.

Frey & Sons absorbed what was left of Stark & Tully’s assets, and Walder’s name rose on the client rankings.

The “Redlining Wedding” became firm legend, a brutal reminder that mergers in BigLaw often end in blood.
