I like the house but the whole thing needs to be renovated and also, I’d like a 5th bedroom. Deck and the great room are lovely for entertaining though.

How much do you think it would cost to renovate?

The great room is the star of the show, at the same time it must cost a fortune to heat/cool.

You'd need $350-400k to renovate. I'd get rid of all of the tile flooring. I'd close off the wall into the kitchen. Redo kitchen appliances and countertops. Redo a bunch of the carpeted rooms too. Maybe only carpet in the bedrooms. It'd be a lot of reno.

Another thing I would do is, I would expand the deck off of the master suite and enclose it. You could do like a hot tub, a cold plunge, and a little sauna out there and it would really be like a Master's Retreat Suite.

i love this! beautiful photography also. agree that you would need to put some money into renos. i would get a building inspector over there who knows what he's doing though - given the dated look on things it makes me wonder if more fundamental systems would've been maintained properly and/or remain robust

the house clearly needs a lot of work.

From realtor.com, looks like they've been trying to sell it since March and had to lower the list price a couple times. Taken off the market in May and relisted yesterday $300k lower, so maybe went under contract and it fell through after inspections.
