Looking at sequence of events and profiles of both pilots, it’s seems more likely that it was Captain who cut off the switches and here is why:
Since FO was flying, captain had free hands and less likely would be noticed by flying FO who was focused on take off roll
«Why did you do it» question instead of «what the F*** did you do» + quicker reaction is more likely to come from less experienced FO who may have felt startled by actions of more senior Captain.
Captain seemed to lead more isolated lifestyle and as single guy over 50 nearing retirement and worrying about finances statistically was more likely to have depression vs bachelor FO with more family connections and full carrier ahead of him.
Captain was a caregiver to 90+ farther and had recent loss in family => also higher risk of mental breakdown.
