2) post-ww2 guilty/sympathy for jews led to the west feeling like they "owed" it to the jews to create a state for them, and any criticism of this can be strawmanned as antisemitic bigotry.
3) imperialists view israel as an important western ally in the middle east. they see israel is a proxy state like ukraine and not the other way around. and either way, it's in their own self-interest to keep them around and they don't care much who is calling the shots so long as they're enriched. |
