I think it's as plausible to say that Ashkenazis are descended from a genetic bottleneck from 500 or 600 years ago that, by chance and genetic drift, gave us a disproportionate number of know-it-all mothers who raised striver children to believe they're God's gift to this Earth. The cycle perpetuates itself and is self-fulfilling. |
