i just feel so...unhappy

Date: February 16th, 2012 12:39 AM Author: Heady Costumed Idiot Halford i dont know whats wrong with me, but im not feeling that great. really miss life from a few years ago (circa 2005). now, my life is 24/7 stress. its great to have a 100k job but it means im literally working or thinking about work most hours of the day. im stressed abt debt payments. i have a shitty car. i dont have a house.
its odd to be making 6 figures yet still drive a 13 yr old car. |

You also gotta make a meaningful effort to compartmentalize. I try to buy tickets to sporting events, hit the wife up with unexpected flowers, just generally reap the rewards of the job without breaking the bank. Basically, find that balance. Some lawyers (including myself) just hate law and can't stand it... for people like that, there is no sin in changing career.
I recommend you exercising more often, taking a vacation trip to an exotic locale, going out with your buddies to drink up, play in league sports, and just find some fucking hobby.
Remember: work is work, and your life is life. Don't let your work consume your life. |
