Judging from the frequency that ppl admit to overbilling on this board, it doesn't seem like it gets caught very often. Plus, if the firm does find out, it's more likely that firm would just fire you rather than report you to the bar.

I don't overbill. In fact, I think I'm inefficient and often underbill. Just was responding to the assertion that there is any significant risk in getting disbarred for overbilling.

its not just law, any line of work that involves submitting billables this is a bad thing. you miss a deadline your firm risks not getting compensated, shows bad personal organizational skills, etc.
