This. I've worked in offices ranging from small law, to mid law, to gov't., and it's pretty standard to have at least a law degree framed and hanging on the wall. In fact, I'm having trouble thinking of any attorneys I've met who DON'T have it.

i think it'd be highly douchey if ur a first year associate but otherwise, it's fine, because you're probably regularly meeting with clients and other associates in your office and need to impress. As a first year, not so much.

Greetings,

It does open up avenues for conversation. When you go in for a meeting w/someone in his office, first thing you should do when walking in is quickly scan the room for little things like diploma, pictures of vacation, family, etc., so you can make small talk.

State bar admissions (2 states)

Mock/Moot-related stuff.

When I was working as a law clerk for a judge I didn't have shit up on the walls.

It wasn't until I got this gig that I actually started framing shit.

It really varies amongst the other lawyers in my office. Some just don't give a shit.

The TX bar admission looks really awesome, but the federal ones in TX are ugly as FUARK. At least the ones I got, maybe it is or used to be different.

I never put anything up on my walls, either when I was in BigLaw or now (boutique). I did notice, however, that the people that had degrees and awards on their walls were people that went to a TT. So, they would have the law degree, some award for Coif, state bar admissions, etc.
