Idaho might be beautiful but does it have wilderness or things that no one else has? The least impressive state almost assuredly will have to be one of the least populous ones not a median sized one as well. |

portland is a fine city even if it has many annoying inhabitants
lots of microbrews and some cool smaller cities (bend, medford)
the weather is very mediocre, but other than that it's actually a pretty solid state. shitlibs have a home in portland and are country types have a home in the bumblefuck areas. |

Little Rock has some of the most aesthetically-pleasing upscale communities in the eastern half of the country. It's lush and hilly with tall trees. Best-in-class restaurant scene for a city its size.
Bill Clinton is from there.
The rural parts of the state have some of the most pristine and preserved nature in the "East Coast" style. Forests, mountains and lakes still largely undiscovered by the populated masses that overrun similar places along the Atlantic seaboard.
Hotbed for VC activity.
Walmart HQ means a lot of new money in the Fayetteville area. |

Anyone who's ever been there knows what I mean. The whole place seems to be in disrepair (roads especially) and New Orleans is basically the shittiest city in the country.

at least MS, LA, and WVa are famous for things. but indiana is overshadowed by ohio (quintessential rust belt/industrial midwest state), illinois (biggest midwest state), and iowa (quintessential farm country midwest state).
nyc is the most impressive city in the us, by far, but the state itself is overshadowed by CA. |

natural scenery (even mississippi has some cool places around the river, and biloxi is a decent spot) good cities a unique local culture which still exists in the age of rapid us cultural homogenization strong economy places of national interest (rushmore, smithsonian, anything)
so new jersey and deleware are the top candidates IMO. new jersey has an OK economy but all its cities are fucking boring/bland (or dangerous), it has basically no natural landscape anymore (even connecticut is prettier than people give it credit), and nobody for any reason other than relatives would ever casually visit new jersey aside from that cesspit atlantic city. delaware has a good economy but this is by virtue of the fact that it's a fucking leech on the rest of the country |
