depends which route you take. there are a couple strenuous routes which require scrambling, but no technical climbing is needed.

There are always going to be outliers and exceptions with any challenge, I just think that almost anyone could hike Kilamanjaro. The name itself makes it sound more baller than it probably is. But I've never hike it so this is just my colon speaking.

yes, anyone in reasonably good shape is capable of summiting. but plenty of people don't summit for a variety of reasons -- it's overall a less than 50% success rate. people who don't make it often choose to go on the cheap 5-day route that doesn't allow sufficient time for acclimitization... or they're inexperienced idiots who don't know how to take care of themselves (drinking enough water, going slowly, etc.)... or they're genetically susceptible to altitude sickness.
