I was always under the impression that options from consulting were superior comp-wise.
What kind of comp are v50 bros in biglaw looking at after 5 years?

biglaw best exit op is to make partner. better to take 50% cut than to be an unemployed fag

90 hours is over 3000 billibles. What kind of biglawyer is pulling those kind of hours?
Low six-figures seems pretty dismal. There's gotta be better options. I do know xoxo is unduly pessimistic about this sort of stuff.

Most BigLawyers are probably pulling 60-70 hour weeks, and also the stress of effectively being on call non-stop and not being able to have firm schedules with anyone in your social circle.
40-50 hour corporate gigs @ six figures are 'dismal'?

the faggot OP probably hasn't worked a day in his life. i know biglaw associates who would even give up a chance at partner to quit right now and make 100k at a 40/hour gig.
if u want to ever enjoy life or raise a family and u have worked in biglaw u know exactly what i'm talking about

I'm sorry, but why is this controversial? At the very least, if you had the intelligence to make biglaw you had the intelligence to pass a STEM degree, which is probably making close to that 10 years out (without the debt and opportunity cost).
People at T6 had the numbers and intelligence to go to professional schools like med/dent. A significant portion of the T6 comes from top UGs, and they obviously had the GPA to do finance. I know YLS has 35% of its students coming from HYPS alone.

Greetings,
There are smart people at T6 who could have done med school and not gotten stuck in family. But I went to a top school [redacted], and there were plenty of people who couldn't fucking integrate x dx. LOL @ them being able to even do well on the MCAT.
So no, the average T6er could not have gone to med school.
Good night, sir, it's time for me to go to bed. It was nice chatting with you good sir.

To be fair,
Maybe you aren't familiar with this board.
Let me explain to you how things work around here:
The answer to any "Which is better, Biglaw or [X]?" question is never Biglaw. Biglaw is literally the worst job on the planet, only ugly unloveable loser beta faggots who should haved killed themselves with a shotgun to the face years ago would ever even dream of going to law school, let alone working in the legal profession, and only the lowest and ugliest of women will even consider fucking a Biglawyer.
XOXO, HTH.

obviously its better than most jobs but all the betas on xoxo compare it to private equity or doctors and of course biglaw sucks dick.

To be fair,
In the reality outside of the internet, PE is filled with miserable aspie short balding self-loathing Jews who have traded literally everything in their life - family, friends, all normal human interaction, hobbies, passions, time - for money. They can make significantly more than a Biglaw association, but they also work significantly worse hours on average. Almost none of them are chill cool charismatic alpha bros who slay puss left and right. A lot of them understandably suffer from depression and substance abuse.
In the reality outside of the internet, Doctors spent 2-3x as long in graduate school/training as lawyers, studying much harder throughout and working 70-80 hours weeks for a salary that even the lowest shitlawyer would wince at during residency. Most of them deal with nasty bodily, interact with terrible patients, and see death and other depressing terrible events on a regular basis. They spend their lives surrounded by the physically ill, the ugly, and the miserable. And with rising malpractice premiums and the looming nationalization of the U.S. Healthcare industry, a majority of medical students no longer feel optimistic about their own futures. To top it off, most doctors don't make significantly more than most biglaw-caliber lawyers - and they don't start earning serious money until significantly later.
But on XOXO, these two professions admittedly dominate law in every possible way and are filled with fulfilled, rich 6'3" alphas who coast through life doing what they love for 50 hours a week and slaying 10s with ease. So you have me there.

At least xoxo has some (although I realize not a lot) of biglawyers who have been in the practice for multiple years.
