explain how you do it? do you just make up assignments or do you add extra hours to longer assignments, or do you add a lot of extra time to short things like emails and phone conferences?

making up assignments is just retarded. nobody knows or cares whether a day spent researching and writing some brief is 10.75 or 12.25 hours.

define "larger projects" - are you adding 2 hours to 6 hour assignments or assignments that take you 3 days?

that's a pretty substantial padding. you must not be in the office much or your hours must be through the roof.

or some assignments that should take 2 hours he spent 2 full days dicking around on and knows there is no way he can bill the whole thing there, so makes it up with a few hours padding here and there elsewhere. this is what i think happens most regularly.

basically this.

i do like 4-5 hours of real work per day. i spend a lot of time in the office just resting/surfing the internet/watching tv etc. so i still leave at the same time as if i actually billed 9 hours.

probably, 70% pad and the other 30% are morons who underbill either because they're pussy betas afraid of looking bad or they do their time late and forget what they worked on.

how do u do that? dont u take frequent mental breaks and shit? would be annoying stopping and starting it everytime i decided to check ESPN, get coffee, go talk to someone, or whatever. it's just easier thinking back on my day and estimating.
