Top 10% at CCN. Grew up in Bay Area. Trying to figure out how heavy I should bid sv in the fall.

Love going to school in NYC, all the energy, bars etc. Single and outgoing 6'3" male. 24. Don't want marry/kids for 10-15 years. Want corp so that puts out sf and I really can't imagine spending my late 20s in Palo Alto/Moutain View. Then again in sf I'd be 3k miles closer to family and hs friends. Bay Area has better weather, nature, less workaholic culture etc. what to do?

Honestly, it seems like you should start in NY and then move back to the Bay Area. I don't think I've ever told anyone to go to big law in NY (it's usually my first "don't" rule), but you seem like you'll need to expereince it for yourself or forever have doubts.

Yea there's also the stability aspect of it that I didn't mention in the OP. If tech deal flow slows (which the below article suggests it might) I may have more stability at CSM/STB/S&C than at Wilson Sonsini. I think during the worst of ITE most of the v10 didn't have huge layoffs whereas all bets are off in SV, especially if the firm isn't homegrown. Then again, Spain could default and decimate NYC finance deal flow.
