To be fair,
And maybe '20, although that's admittedly pretty far afield at this point to be making predictions.
Even if we just limit this to the next 8 years, between them they will get to replace Ginsburg and probably at least two of Scalia/Thomas/Kennedy, fundamentally swinging the ideological makeup of the court far to the left for decades to come. Between all of these probable outcomes and the near certainty that our population will continue to get more and more brown (read: liberal), Republicans looking more and more permafucked on the national stage.

To be fair,
It's all part of her plan bro. She is clearly narcisstic as fuck, cares a lot about her "historical legacy", and would probably find the chance to vindicate her '08 pummeling and actually go down as the first female POTUS in American history irresistable as 50% of the American population goes apeshit and starts chanting her name, demanding that she throw her hat in the ring.
And what is there left to troll against her with? She's a YLS grad who spent 8 years in the WH as FLOTUS to a popular president seeing how things work there, and then she spent the last decade and a half developing her own political credentials (Senator from a major state + well-regarded SoS). She is intelligent, educated, articulate, and experienced. Assuming she can manage to keep her current semi-chill/cool persona going (gravitas can work very well for women as they age), she will literally be unstoppable. And by '16 Bill will either still be alive and charming as shit (big nostalgia points), or he will be dead and earn her major sympathy points.

To be fair,
I'm pretty sure your claim above was that "women" never develop gravitas.
I'm pretty sure I just gave you a perfect modern rebuttal example.
I'm pretty sure now you're inartfully trying to move the goalposts since you got intellectually assfucked for making a demonstrably dumb statement.
I'm pretty sure you should leave this thread now.
Thanks.

To be fair,
Cory Booker: Brilliant, articulate, charismatic, tall, well-built, alpha-yet-non-threatening black guy with an impeccable educational background and a growing list of leadership experience.
You: Post on XO.

To be fair,
Read the last paragraph you wrote.
That's all I have to say. You know who "matters" in the Democratic party? Democrat/Moderate voters. They will LOVE Booker, and because once the voting booth opens this is still a democracy, that's all that ultimately matters at the end of the day when it comes to getting elected.

it depends on whether or not the GOP can capture a higher percentage of the white vote. if whites swing hard to the GOP and the GOP becomes the de facto "white" party in america, it would remain competitive.

the problem is that the GOP does not actually represent "white" interests, as such
it's not clear that voting GOP actually ends up being a better deal for whites than voting dem
if you look at other ethnic-based political parties around the world, they basically all try to offer something to their political clients, and even conservative parties have a socialist underbelly in that regard
if your "pitch" to white voters always revolves around tax cuts for people who are already successful, that's going to result in diminishing returns over time. you need more than that. you need to offer something more substantive, like higher wages in the unskilled sector of the blue collar workforce

that has been happening so far. but the problem in the medium term with that strategy is that you leave a political "flank" open to blue-collar oriented white dems, like the ones in west virginia. especially at the local level and in statehouses as opposed to the congress.
and if you give up too much of your party's direction to narrow interest groups, you risk sudden and sharp backlashes when those interest groups implement policies that go wrong. iraq is a good example of that; it was pretty much the main reason the dems did so well in 2006 and 2008 and had that brief 60 seat majority.
and i really don't think you could look at something like iraq as a "good" policy for whites, or worthy of all the political attention it ended up demanding.
but yet, there are still powerful interest groups welcomed by the GOP who would like to repeat the exact same thing in iran.
if the GOP wants to become more of a white-interest party, it has to be smarter than that.
