I've got a loan that's now at 1.625% on a 25-year repayment plan. With auto-debit, it's 1.375%.

No. I just took advantage of the SPECIAL DIRECT CONSOLIDATION offer from the guberment.

I had privately held FEEL loans with a ton of bonus "reduce your interest rate if you do X" things, so when I did special direct consolidation they based it off of the CURRENT interest rate, which was already reduced by like 2.5% from all the random extras.

Special direct reduces your rate by 0.25%

Auto debit is 0.25%

Explain these "extras"

The servicer I had before consolidation reduced it for all kinds of random reasons. Autodebit took off .5%. Never made a late payment? .5% reduction! 10 year repayment plan? .5% off! No fucking reason? .5% off!

I really wish NOBAMA hadn't made all loans direct in 2009, because the DIRECT loans I have after that are at the retarded bullshit rate of...whatever the fuck they are? 7%?

As I stated above, I'm talking about FEEL loans. FEEL loans are privately serviced but government backed Stafford and GradPLUS loans. Those are the types of loans that the Special Direct Consolidation program is targeting.

No, it's not a flame.

Uh, the loans aren't offered anymore. That's the whole point of special direct consolidation, the government is trying to buy up all the outstanding FEEL loans. There are no more FEEL loans offered because NOBAMA did away with them and now the government just direct loans everything (so they can rape us with 7-8% interest rather than letting private servicers get guaranteed returns without any risk through FEEL loans.)
