OK but not great grades from CCN. I bid and got 20-30 screeners only in NYC and SF/SV. Our OCS told us only to bid on two markets and I grew up in the Bay Area. However, I went to UG at UofC/Northwestern and my brother lives in LA. Is there any downside other than time/effort to mass mailing all V100 firms in LA and Chicago with the exception of those that I have interviews with. Eg I have a screener with K&E NYC so I won't mail them. But I don't have a screener with Mayer Brown, for instance, so should I mass mail their Chicago office or no? Sorry if this post is confusing. Ty for your time and help.

no down side. if you don't mind working there do it.
If I were you, I would also say something like "I'll be in LA meeting my brother from x to y, so that would be a convenient time for a screening interview." etc. etc.

I mean I hope I get an offer but I just want to do all that I can given ITE. Plus I have a chill PI summer job and can put in a lot of effort into cover letters/mailings but I don't want to if there is a downside to "so where else did you apply" and I have to say NY, Bay, LA, and Chi. I'm asking XO if the downside to coming across as less committed to one market is outweighed by potentially more screeners (and thus hopefully offers).
