yes, i lied initially to make my life sound more dramatic. i said brown was considering disciplinary action when they werent. but even if that had been true at the time i said it, you guys would have no reason to believe they were still considering it *after* they interviewed my friends and therapist and decided, as they told me and my parents and put in my paperwork, that disciplinary action would be completely inappropriate. they also put in writing the real reason they suggested that i take a leave in the first place: the fact that i had had a lot of trouble focusing on my schoolwork (ostensibly due to my depression diagnosis) and had dropped several classes in the past two semesters.
i know youre probably just trolling to piss me off and make me write a several-paragraph defensive response, so yeah, you win. just replying on the off-chance that you actually believe this bullshit. then again, if youre really so deluded as to think that you know more about my life than i do, i doubt anything i say will talk you out of your psychosis. |

i posted a thread saying brown may take disciplinary action. that was a... well... major stretch of the truth. they never said that they were considering disciplinary action, and they later assured me they never were. i was just being paranoid at the time, after my first meeting with a dean, during which i thought she implied that they may consider disciplinary action. i never said they "threatened" to kick me out, i just put the words in their mouth that they were considering it.
as i said, yes, i was misleading; i was freaking out and being dramatic.
ive said this many times, and ive been 100% honest since then.
there is NO REASON i would lie about this. when have i ever lied to make myself look BETTER? the only dishonesty ive practiced here is, as ive demonstrated, sometimes stretching the truth for more dramatic threads.
ive posted paperwork proving that the leave was voluntary, and people made up bullshit about how obviously brown just PRETENDED to give me a choice (LOL!). many of you guys, if not trolling, are seriously delusional.

that says you lied about potential criminal charges, not the fact that brown kicked you out/threatened to kick you out.
as i understand it you've offered as many as three different stories
1. your first story: brown was kicking you out (although you likely would be allowed to present it as a "voluntary" leave of absence for future employers/other schools etc. this is how pretty much every school treats things that don't seriously violate the honor code, like plagiarism or cheating)
2. your next and inconsistent story: brown had kind of sort of threatened you with being kicked out, but then totally relented and said you could come back next semester and *you* just decided that you would voluntarily kick yourself out for a year, not graduate with your class and live in your parents basement. this all sounded a little delusional.
3. your most recent story, spun only in this thread as far as i can tell: brown was never threatening you with being kicked out for a year and you had *always* known you would voluntarily kick yourself out for a year, not graduate with your class, live in your parents basement, etc. but would simultaneously spin a story to xo that brown had either kicked you out (#1, above) or threatened to kick you out but ultimately let you make the decision (#2) and that you would completely fabricate these stories in order to add to your xo persona.
in any case, pretty much all of the scenarios expose you as an inveterate liar and i cant believe you think people ought to take what you're saying seriously now as you protest that NOW you're telling us the full story and just lol at thinking you would lie. WHY WOULD I LIE IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE YOU ASPIE!!!! |

(2) isnt right, either. i was kind of confusing about the one semester vs two thing because i was confused until the paperwork officially went through in late may. they kept telling me that it was possible to go back in a semester but very rare, as they like mental health leaves to last two semesters. i didnt realize until they sent me the paperwork that its actually POLICY for a mh leave to last two semesters and a special exception has to be made in order for them to let you back after one. once i found that out, i was like "fuck it, if they think two semesters is best, i wont even try to get an exception made." at that time i had kind of gotten my heart set on doing two anyways cuz id be making more money and i wouldnt have to contort my planned class schedule to get around prerequisites and shit.
(3) isnt what im saying at all.
im saying that i posted that thread about being "forced" to take a medical leave / potential disciplinary action / potential criminal charges when i was freaking out and being dramatic. everything ive said since then has been true--brown talked to my friends, psychs, etc. and suggested that i take a leave of absence because im unhappy and havent been performing well in school. i could have said "no", but i decided it was a good idea. |

ive said repeatedly since then that i was exaggerating/lying/being paranoid when i said that, and that after i posted that, brown talked to a bunch of my friends and suggested that i take a leave of absence because i was depressed/not doing my schoolwork/whatever.
as ive posted, brown LOVES to get kids to take leaves when theyre not happy. my friend was very strongly urged to take a leave when she had an extreme bout of homesickness her freshman year. |

Box - kicked or not, you're still probably one of only two people at Brown that year to get talked to in that manner by the dean. being in the 1/1000th percentile in terms of stable percentile is something for equal concern, even if they ultimately would have let you stay |
