No minimum purchase (free shipping <$25)

Streaming video library almost as good as Netflix (and cheaper than Netflix)

The shipping is not worth it to me. Maybe once every 2 years I have a time when I would really like to have an item in 2 days instead of 3 or 4 days. Spending $25 seems like a non-issue as well.

I guess if the streaming service is really really good (which I doubt), it could make sense for some people. But really, all streaming actually sucks for 1080p, and what kind of rube actually watches non-HD content these days? Just pirate everything for free bro.

I used to download shit all the time, but acknowledged the whole time that I was cheap and stealing shit that should be paid for.

What is the most prole of justifications exactly? You're not making any sense at all.

I just don't give a fuck about Hollywood not getting my money honestly. I just go for whatever is beneficial to me. It has nothing to do with the cost. I do pay for quality entertainment and I would absolutely pay more for quality + convenience.

What's prole is ANYTHING streaming, which is horrible quality.

- quality + convenience is not offered at any price

- when i want quality + convenience, i pirate

Now feel free to explain your intricate theories about prolehood and how I'm wrong here. Anyway "prole" wasn't my original statement, I actually said it was "rube" to watch non-HD or crappy quality.

Not a tangent, really. I agree with you that it is rube. Like I said earlier, I downloaded shit all the time. But it is certainly not more "prole" for people to legitimately pay for media. Maybe that's a meaningless distinction to you, but I'm a stickler for words being used outside their proper meaning.

EDIT: Now if you were to amend your original statement to say "the quality of streaming media is prole" then we'd be in full agreement.

Pirating is not risky. Nobody has ever been sued for just downloading because they have only captured uploaders' info and the legal case is more difficult if you were not distributing. You can disable uploading. You can hide your IP. Even if you upload briefly without hiding IP it's a 1 in a million risk.

Half of the time the 2 day delivery only takes one day, and if you want guaranteed next-day it's only $3.99. There's no sales tax either (depending on where you live). Once you get used to having shit at your door in 1-2 days you will realize how 180 it is. LOL at driving all the way to the store, searching through the aisles, and waiting in line.

I agree Amazon prime is dumb to pay for unless you order a lot of stuff online and from Amazon (which is not always the cheapest). The Amazon streaming libraray is vastly inferior to Netflix, so while its cheaper, you get what you pay for.

I actually probably make close to 50 amazon purchases a year too. Still, I have almost never thought, gee i wish this would arrive 1-2 days sooner. About once every year or two I think that.

EDIT, just checked, 45 orders in 2012 so far. Most of those include multiple items.

It's often tiresome to wait to group items into $25 or more per order. Prime eliminates that. That's huge.

In addition, I think that the first year it was free. I pay $40 per year. Not sure why I'm not paying $80; maybe my low price is being grandfathered in. Or maybe I'm enough of a power user that they don't want to piss me off.

Exactly right. OP essentially outed the whole board as consisting entirely of proles. Which there would be nothing wrong with save for the fact that 99% of the threads on this board are spent bashing perceived "prole" behavior. Classic and textbook self-hating.

You seem confused. The prole-bashing is A) not as significant as you think, B) 99% flame and C) mostly about attitudes. Frugality can actually be a sort of prestigious thing, and spending more can be prole.

even if you don't care for the speed, you would end up paying the shipping charges anyway for ground rates and spend more.
