What an absurd hypo. I would've said around $50k, but with 7 figures coming in you could do just fine on $30k, and retire as soon as you get dem millions.

$150k assuming single and no loans, and saving about $30k/year.

That shit goes up to $350-400k once you factor in kids, spouse etc.

50-60k.

For a number of reasons, in the past year or so I've realized money literally means nothing so long as you are doing things that make you happy.

And a lot of things that make you happy require money, and a lot of the most enjoyable places to live have a higher cost of living (in my opinion).

I've come to this realization to some degree, but I realize that I really don't like to have to eat unhealthy cheap food that I cook myself every night of the week, or live in some shitbox apartment with roommates just to be able to afford to do the things that make me happy.

I also get a lot of peace of mind from saving money. You need to make money to save money.

assuming no need to save money for retirement/health catastrophe? if thats the case could be extremely low for me, USD 25,000 a year would be fine

are you healthy? do you expect to stay healthy?

are you a chad?

are you not materialistic?

are you eschewing family formation?

answering yes to any of these questions, particularly the last three, will greatly lower your acceptable salary threshold.

i could see <35K as livable to someone that answers yes to all four.

Probably around 100k household income, assuming decent hours. Wouldn't be terribly different from current lifestyle, except would have less retirement and non-retirement savings, and would have to live with a bit more anxiety about losing a job.
