Was nearly suicidal, and experienced episodes of depersonalization (really weird symptom of severe depression/anxiety). Failed because I did not use any prep course (just studied bar/bri books, solo). The worst of it lasted for a couple months, but was still in my faculties to the extent I could start prepping to take the exam in Feb '08. Passed (didn't take a course again, perhaps that's me being hard-headed, but whatever). Finally landed a low paying job as an attorney by June '08, but the job had potential. Still exhibited depression though, and didn't fit in for at least the first year there. Now doing well, working for the same firm. Partner, business has grown by leaps and bounds. Not rich or anything, but now making well into the 6 figures working about 45 hours a week. So in the grand scheme, it had little to no impact (maybe even beneficial).
