Is there any reason why taking a second/third Bar exam is not worth it?

I already moved to another jurisdiction that has no reciprocity with my home jur. I really don't want to take the fucking Bar again, but here I am. Is there any way to practice without having to pass another Bar?

I'm considering in-house or Federal Government, but I don't have enough practice experience (about 8 months) for either.

No I'm taking the last pure WA format, which is why I really want to pass now!

ETA: If I pass this time, I get the reciprocity benefits of the UBE without having to sit for the UBE (at least in Oregon, Idaho, and a few other states). My goal is to stay in the Seattle area, but Portland is a nice option to have.

I thought July was the last. they have been going back and forth forever. did u go to school in WA? isn't the old format harder? I am taking WA in July but have previously had the mbe format, still a pain in the ass.

July will be the 1st time with the UBE+WA portion. I'm taking the last pure WA.

It is hard because it is 18 essay questions, no multiple choice, and includes fucking secured transactions, Indian law (wtf?) and other shit of the sort. However, pure essay gives you the opportunity to hustle points that you normally can't get with multiple choice, and it is pure Washington Law, which is pretty straightforward. At the same time, 18 FUCKING ESSAY QUESTIONS! Plus 6 RAC questions on the third day. It is more of an endurance/memorization exam than in any other jurisdiction.

the UBE doesn't include state law. I thought WA was going to go pure UBE (MBE, MPT, MEE) like AZ, CO, MT, etc. Like the guy above, I am thinking about WA as well, but the essays bullshit seemed annoying.

WA is doing a hybrid UBE+WA portion sadly . . .

Three people doing WA in one thread? Guess legalizing weed is making attorneys come out in droves . . .

"Washington begins using the Uniform Bar Exam in July 2013. In addition to the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE), applicants must take and pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE), and, the Washington Law Component (WLC), which is an online open book multiple choice test on Washington specific law."

I'm not really sure if you can do it at home or not, but, being open book/online, it wouldn't surprise me. The problem lies in the high probability of needing to take a review course solely on WA law on top of the UBE course, to be able to pass the full exam. Sounds fucking expensive.

whether you need the bar is dependent on job. fedgov (no), local gov (yes), firm (probably), have you answered this already?
