Just bought a flash drive for the first time in ~10 years

I've been gimping along on that thing for 10 years and finally spent like $7 on a USB 3.0 model to get a small Amazon order over the $25 threshold. |

I've been opposed to getting a new one all these years largely because of how much I overpaid for that first one. There was even a $20 mail-in rebate on the thing that I forgot to do, which really pissed me off. |

See, my Grandma used to have a computer. But she recently gave it up because her eyesight is getting worse and she moved into assisted living.
She always really liked doing stuff with photos though, she had scanned a bunch of old ones, etc. So I gave her this thing, which can read photos off a memory card and display them on her TV:

My thinking was I'd periodically give her a drive with a fresh batch of photos & videos on it
She was apparently in a bit of a mood when I set up the photo viewer hardware. After we looked at a few photos, she made me unhook it from her TV and put it in a drawer. I'm certain she hasn't used it since.
So I've got a few unused flash drives sitting around |
