Switching firms with a month or two off in between seems to have helped some laterals. Also depends on how burned out you are- if the fear of shitcanning isn't enough to motivate you and you have nothing else to work for (paying off loans, family expenses), there may be no coming back.

If you leave and start your own shit you can never come back. This is mainly because you figure out pretty quick that all the biglaw neurosis is bullshit and no one on earth gives a fuck if you spelled a word wrong.

This is the biggest difference between BigLaw (and most MidLaw) firms. When I first joined my current firm, I told the partner, "I forgot to align the footnotes properly." (They were aligned left instead of justified.) At my old BigLaw firm, I would have been yelled at and forced to send an apology email and a revised version. This partner was just like, "Is that it? Don't worry about it. It is just a draft."

Revise to:

"This is the biggest difference between BigLaw and (most) MidLaw firms."

or:

"This is the biggest difference between BigLaw and most MidLaw firms."

**THIS is why you could never hack it in biglaw. You are a terrible writer.

Bro it is grammatically incorrect to separate a preposition from its object with a colon. This is why you can never hack it in legal writing critique. HTH.

bro of mine mine went BIGLAW -> complete burnout (because he has a psychotic work ethic, would regularly work 48 hours in a row, sleep in his office, etc) -> straight up quitting and going to a T20 B-school, dropping out after one year -> back to another biglaw firm (but smaller firm with less hours.

Dude still works full days every fucking saturday though, not much changed. His work ethic is crazy.
